How to install Linux without a Linux computer.
Quick method to install using a linux computer
1) Make a vfat and a ext3 file system om your SD card (important ext3 partition has to be on the second partition)..
2) Extract the image (openmoko/gpe/x11/opie etc) to the linux partition (ext3) {tar jxvpf "image" ./}
3) Install the provided *.cab file you have downloaded to your HTC Universal. It will appear like this in WinCe:(Screenshot).
4) Insert SD card and run Linux.
Note:
The first boot take some time because it generate locales and publish some gnome-vfs mimetypes.
The bootsplash can be aborted using [alt+left] (on the WWE it is "internet explorer button + left arrow").
